Windows 10 Settings You Should Change Right Now!
Windows 10 is one of the most popular operating systems in the world. It includes many exciting functionalities, such as Cortana and the revamped Start Menu. However, there are some settings that prevent Windows 10 from being clean and secure. In this article, we will talk about some of those Windows 10 settings that you need to change right now.
A. Create a Restore Point
Step 1: Type Create a restore point in the search bar and click on the utility that pops up.
Step 2: On the System Protection tab, you will see Configure at the bottom-right corner of your screen. Click on it to proceed.
Step 3: Check the box that says Turn on system protection and hit OK.
Step 4: Now click on the Create button at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Step 5: Type a name for your restore point and hit Create.
B. Show Hidden Files
Step 1: Type Show hidden files in the search bar and click on the utility that pops up.
Step 2: Under File Explorer, you will see a checkbox that says Change settings to show hidden and system files. Check the box to let Windows show you hidden files.
C. Stop Automatic Updates
Step 1: Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
Step 2: Under Network status, you will see your connection. Underneath your connection, you will see a Properties button. Click on it to proceed.
Step 3: Under Metered connection, you will see a toggle button that says Set as metered connection. Turn it on to stop Windows from automatically updating your PC.
D. Enable Storage Sense
Step 1: Go to Settings > System > Storage. You will see a link that says Configure Storage Sense or run it now. Click on it to proceed.
- Step 2.1: Under Storage Sense, you will see a toggle button. Turn it on.
- Step 2.2: Under Run Storage Sense, you will see a dropdown. Click on it and select Every day from the list.
E. Turn Off the Camera
Step 1: Go to Settings > Privacy.
Step 2: Under Allow access to the camera on this device, you will see a Change button. Click on it to turn the camera off.
