Job title: Corporate Manager-WILDCRAFT

Location: Bangalore

PROCESS:

  • GD
  • PERSONAL INTERVIEW
  • FINAL INTERVIEW

I applied for the CORPORATE MANAGER (Sales) role in Wildcraft, through my college. It was a pooled campus which happened at DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore. Around 2000 applicants showed up for the interview. After the pre-placement talk.

There were 2 Group Discussion rounds.

The First Round had around 20 people in a room expressing their opinions on the topic, the HR gave. For me, the topic was “Can disabled people be mentally stable?“. While everyone was debating and fighting, I strongly expressed my opinion as if a person has willpower regardless of his situation, he or she can succeed. The next group discussion round happened with the condition that applicants should not fight or mock the opponent’s views. In this round, HR was testing the listening capacity of the applicants. Among 2000 applicants only 400 made it to

The Second Round, among which I was one. The topic was, “Are actors influencing Indian society by entering into politics ?”.While everyone was shouting and debating, I expressed my opinion at the moment when my logic could be served. I expressed that the person himself must have done something to shine as an actor and if through that he is becoming a politician I don’t think he should be judged. After these two rounds, only 100 people were shortlisted and only 14 from my university were shortlisted.

The next day being a shortlisted candidate, I appeared for the personal interview, I was asked why I choose sales over an IT job. The simple question made me realize how much effort I put into what I studied over the four years. The HR advised me to try for IT jobs and he encouraged me to go in what I truly like. Without much thought, I was rejected in the personal interview but the interview was a game changer for me. I learned to stick on to what is true to my purpose and after 2 months, I was interviewed at a well-established IT company where I bagged an opportunity to work as an IT consultant. If I hadn’t applied or shown up for Wildcraft, I wouldn’t have had the courage to face the other placements. I felt like meeting myself in each and every interview I attended and shaping myself with the best character that I projected to the employers.
