What was your GATE (CSE) preparation story?
GATE is the ultimate and most prestigious post graduate course for engineering students. Preparation of the coveted exam is therefore very important to crack it with great score. The more good your score will be, the better college you will get.
I appeared for GATE 2017, after one year of rigorous preparation. My hard work paid off as I managed to get a score of 861 and an All India Rank of 164 in GATE (CSE).
Appearing for GATE and finally securing such a good rank was the cherry on the cake and I couldn’t ask for more. My strategy for GATE was simple, I focused on making my concepts really strong. Numerical problems of GATE, require strong conceptual knowledge. My preparation included timely revision and focusing more on one mark questions. To every GATE aspirant, I would recommend the following:
- Focus on Concept building:
Make sure your concepts are strong. Focus on theoretical gain of knowledge.
- Identify your strengths:
It is important to identify your strengths. It will give you confidence.
- Make Proper Time table:
Make proper plan to study and prepare consistently for the exam.
- Identify Weak Areas:
Identification of weak areas will help you improve and perform better in the exam.
- Stay Motivated:
Motivation is important to succeed in the exam. Stay positive and motivated.
- Practice Previous Year Papers:
This will help you know the exam pattern and prepare for it well.
- Focus on Speed:
Increase your speed to solve questions correctly. So, you can attempt more questions.
- Revise thoroughly:
Give time to proper and timely revision. This will help in the long run.
- Eat Right:
Staying healthy is also important as you prepare for the exam. Eat well.
- Sleep Well:
Sound sleep is important for the brain. Don’t overtire your brain.
These were my plans and strategies to crack the exam. To all the GATE aspirants, I would just ask them to prepare well for the exam. Consistent preparation will definitely help them to score a good rank. I wish luck to all the future aspirants appearing for GATE exam.
