The complete process, starting from PPT to announcing results, was completed in 3 days in the month of June 2021.

Eligibility: CSE (7.5+ CGPA), ECE & EEE (8+ CGPA)

Online Test: It was hosted on AMCAT platform. It had 3 sections.

  1. English
  2. Business Aptitude
  3. Coding

English(12 MCQs in 15 mins.) – Had standard English questions asked in any AMCAT test like correct the sentence, fill up with the appropriate word, arrange the jumbled parts of a sentence and a passage at the end (passage consisted of 4 questions).

Business Aptitude(15 MCQs in 25 mins.) – Had several case studies. Tables or graphs were given for each of them. The questions were to test how well you analyze and understand the given data. Speed was key here.

Coding(Everybody got 2 questions from a larger pool of questions to be solved in 60 mins)

  1. Given a ring network of N systems, a virus destroys the kth system in a clockwise manner. Any destroyed system is removed from the network instantaneously. Find the last system which the virus would destroy.
  2. N coordinates were given in a 2D plane. Find the minimum number of straight lines required to cover all the coordinates at least once.

(In the first two sections, you cannot visit any previously answered question. You can switch between the two questions in the coding section)

Solving 1 question completely and the other partially was enough to get selected for the next round provided your previous two sections were good enough.

(Out of around 100 students, 33 were shortlisted for technical interviews)

Technical interview: Held on zoom and lasted for 55 mins.

  • First, the interviewer introduced himself and then asked for my introduction.
  • Deep discussion about my projects.
  • Asked me to share my screen and open a code editor. Question was to find the next 5 digit palindrome number of the given 5 digit number.
  • Then he asked, “Which problem in society would you like to solve using technology?”.
  • Asked about a hackathon in which I had participated.
  • Lastly, he offered to ask any questions.

Senior Leader interview: Again held on zoom and lasted for 45 mins. Started with my introduction.

A couple of technical questions –

  • What is encapsulation? Give an example.
  • Tell me about any data structure (I chose binary trees).
  • Asked about one of my projects and questions on the technologies I had used and why. Eg. Why did you choose MongoDB and not Oracle SQL?
  • Asked about my proficiency in Python and where have I used it (because I mentioned Python in my resume).
  • Then he asked me the area of interest in which I would like to work. Later questions were based on my answer (Product development)
  • What is testing and how will you test your product?
  • Why is testing automation required?
  • Do you know any tools used for testing?
  • How would you make your product resilient?
  • A question on scalability.
  • Why do you want to join Wells Fargo?

A situation-based question –

  1. Your manager makes you work for long hours regularly. How would you go about resolving this issue?

Lastly, he offered to ask any questions.

HR Interview: Got a call on my mobile from the interviewer without any prior notice. It lasted for 10 mins.

  • Asked about my current location and family background.
  • Why didn’t you do an internship?
  • Why should we hire you?
  • Lastly, he offered to ask any questions.

Finally, 9 students were given an FTE offer and I was one of them.

Tips:

  • Know your resume well and include only that information about which you are confident.
  • Give a good introduction about yourself.
  • Communicating confidently and having a learning attitude are important.

Give your best!
