About Company:

WalmartLabs (formerly named Kosmix) is an American privately held company in Mountain View, California. Their website earns revenue from advertising related to its categorization engine. The engine organizes the Internet into topic pages allowing users to explore the Web by topic, “presenting a dashboard of relevant videos, photos, news, commentary, opinion, communities and links to related topics”. Venky Harinarayan and Anand Rajaraman founded Kosmix in 2005. In April 2011 Walmart acquired Kosmix and formed WalmartLabs, a research division, out of it. WalmartLabs has three development centers worldwide: USA, Brazil, and India.

In 2017, Walmart was ranked #17 in the Forbes’ World’s Largest Public Companies list, #1 in sales, #19 in profit, #24 World’s Most Valuable Brand, and #9 America’s Top Public Company. Walmart Labs offers Websites and apps for Walmart and Sam’s Club, Vudu, OneOps, and Electrode.

Recruitment Process:

Walmart Labs conducts 5-7 rounds to select Software engineers in their organization.

Academic Criteria:

  • 70 percent or above in B.Tech, Class X and XII.
  • No backlogs at the time of the interview

Online Round:

Walmart Labs conducts the first round on HackerEarth. Generally, it is a 90-minute test that includes programming, little aptitude, and Core subjects’ MCQs (Compiler Design, Operating System, Computer Networks, and DBMS). There is a separate cutoff for both mcq section and the coding section so you need to clear both of these sectional cutoffs.

Technical Rounds:

The students who clear the online round are called for a Technical Interview. To clear this round you should be clear with your basics. You should be prepared with Data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, Operating Systems, Networking, and OOP concepts. You should also be familiar with design patterns, and system design problems. Students will be expected to write codes in the interview. They also ask questions about resumes. You may be asked puzzles in this round.

Managerial Round:

You can expect traditional HR questions like :
