The _.add() method returns the sum of all the given arguments.

Syntax:

_.add(val1, val2,..., valn);

Parameters: This method returns n values to operate on them.

Return Value: This method returns the sum of all the given arguments.

Note: This will not work in normal JavaScript because it requires the underscore.js contrib library to be installed. Underscore.js contrib library can be installed using npm install underscore-contrib –save.

Example 1:

Javascript

// Defining underscore contrib variable
var _ = require('underscore-contrib');

var sum  = _.add( 1, 2, 4, 1 );

console.log("The Sum is : ", sum);

Output:

The Sum is : 8

Example 2:

Javascript

// Defining underscore contrib variable
var _ = require('underscore-contrib');

var sum  = _.add( 1 );

console.log("The Sum is : ", sum);

Output:

The Sum is : 1

Example 3:

Javascript

// Defining underscore contrib variable
var _ = require('underscore-contrib');

var sum  = _.add( 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 99, 100 );

console.log("The Sum is : ", sum);

Output:

The Sum is : 224
