Tumblr can be understood as a social networking platform made for posting micro-blogs. Tumblr was developed by David Karp in the year 2007. Currently, it is owned by Yahoo and Automattic. It helps the users to post blogs with all the multimedia facilities, users can easily customize the blog apart from the themes available.

Wix can be understood as a website builder which helps the users to make websites or web applications for different platforms like mobiles, desktops, tablets etc. It comes packed with a large number of tools which allow users to build a website by drag and drop functionality. Along with website building, it also provides hosting features at a reasonable price.

4. Tumblr was purchased by Yahoo and Automattic so they are owners. Wix was founded by Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan.
5. Tumblr supports only the English language. Wix support many languages like English, Dutch, Turkish etc. 
6. Its services are free of cost. Wix provides its services free along with paid plans.
7. It is popular but not as much as Wix. Wix is very popular as it provides high user satisfaction.
8. It is used mainly for blogging by users. It is more popular for making websites and web applications.
