Tredence Analytics visited NIT this placement season to hire a Business Analyst.

Round 1: Firstly, an online test was conducted on hackerearth. The online test had the following sections:

Total Duration: 2hrs 20 mins

  • Data Interpretation
  • Verbal Ability
  • Quotative Ability
  • Computer Programming
  • Pseudo Code
  • Guesstimates
  • Essay Writing

There weren’t any particular section-wise time restrictions, but you’ve to complete the whole test in 2hrs 20 mins. The test was moderate and the one which is having a good command of aptitude can easily get into round-2 which is the personal interview.

Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, Quotative Ability was relatively easy. Do prepare from indiabix and GeeksforGeeks aptitude section, you would be ready to go. Now coming to Computer Programming, it had 3 questions. Which were moderate to tough. All were related to dynamic programming and bit manipulation. If you are able to solve 2/3 then you might get selected. The Pseudo Code section was easy. Essay writing easy just to check your writing skills, nothing to worry about. Guesstimate was the important section for tredence. Please do write a good answer because it had the highest weightage in the whole test.

Out of 250 students, 35 were shortlisted for the next round. Then, we had an online PPT in which the interviewers walked us through the various stages of the interview and a brief intro to the company.

Round 2: We had a personal interview on MS Teams in the morning around 11.

My interviewer was a chill person. He asked me about myself. He mostly asked me probability, permutation and combination, puzzles, and one guesstimate. For probability and P&C, jee maths would be more than sufficient, For puzzles refer gfg. No one gonna asks you beyond gfg. Guesstimate question was “Number of a tennis ball that has been sold in India in 1 year“. It was quite easy. That’s all for this round.

Note: Please do ask 2-3 questions from the interviewer. It is the most important thing and it matters a lot.

This round lasted for around 30 mins. After 10 mins I got a mail from HR that I had been selected for the next round, which was a final round.

Round 3: This round was technical plus HR. The interviewer was a nice person, and he hears me with full patience.

He asked me the following questions.

  1. Tell me about yourself
  2. You’re from the core branch then why machine learning.
  3. The complete life cycle of a Machine learning project.
  4. Why we deploy ML models and some cloud-related questions.
  5. Difference b/w Business Analyst and ML engineer.
  6. Complete detail of projects and internship.
  7. What is the daily work of an Analyst?
  8. 2-3 python questions.
  9. Data types in pandas
  10. SQL queries
  11. Puzzles and guesstimate

This round was lasted for around 1 hr. This round was the last round. After 3 hrs, the result was declared and finally, 10 people got selected. I got selected too :p.

Best of luck 🙂
