TCS ninja registrations started on July 16th 2021 (Do fill the correct details, it will be difficult to alter name and email after registration). Test was on 12th September.

The test included the following sections.

  • Verbal ability (24 qns – 30 min)
  • Reasoning  (30 qns – 50 min)
  • Numerical  (26 qns – 40 min)
  • Programming Logic  (10 qns – 15 min)
  • Coding 1  (1 qn – 15 min)
  • Coding 2  (1 qns – 30 min)

Each section is in auto submit format, i.e. once submitted it is not possible to go back and change or review the questions. Each question is timed, 1 to 2 minutes based on the complexity level. A built in calculator and notepad was present. (Since it is a proctored test, you are not allowed to bend or look down, if you use a paper for calculations it was specified that the paper should be visible while doing the calculations. Moreover, It was not very comfortable to do calculations fast using the built in calculator and notepad provided…. better to learn shortcuts for fast calculation).

Results were released next week after all the slots were completed. My interview was scheduled on October 4th 2021, in online mode. I received the slot details and link (Microsoft teams was used) on October 2nd.

Interview details: The panel consisted of 3 members – TR, MR and the HR. All of them were warm and friendly. First the HR introduced herself and verified my name and other details. After that, the TR introduced himself and started asking questions. Most of the questions were from database and java (programming language that you specify in your resume). He also asked details about the various projects that I did (it was very brief and not detailed). The following questions were asked.

  • What is JVM, JRE and JDK
  • Constructor
  • Types of constructor
  • Polymorphism
  • Object
  • Table vs View
  • Index in database
  • Explain the schema used in your project ( If you have done a project involving database).

This went on for about 10 minutes.

Concentrate more on OOPS concept and databases. In my case, there was no programming questions. But it is possible to get one programming question. Some of my friends were asked to type in simple programs like factorial, prime number, Fibonacci, patterns etc.

The MR did not ask any technical questions (he told that he was satisfied with my answers). He asked some details about my projects. That was all from the MR.

Then came the HR questions. These were some common hr questions like my hobbies and team work. Nothing complex was asked. She then asked me the following questions.

  • Are you okay with the 1 year bond (Might vary)
  • Are you willing to relocate
  • Are you okay in working on different shifts

These questions were asked to everyone. (Be prepared on the answers for the 3 questions).

I received my result after 2-3 weeks.

Overall it was an easy to medium complexity interview. You just have to be confident with your answers and communicate openly to the interviewers.

All the best!!
