Round 1: Aptitude Test
It consists of four rounds:
a. email writing (1 question, 10 minutes)
b. quantitative ability and reasoning ability (20 questions, 40 minutes)
c. programming language efficiency (10 questions, 20 minutes)
d. coding test (1 question, 20 minutes)

Important Tips to prepare for TCS Aptitude Test:
Email writing
As far as the email writing test is concerned, ensure that you strictly adhere to the directions. Use all the keywords and maintain the same order, and strictly follow the instructions on word lengths. Try to use the exact keywords without changing their tense. Pay attention to grammar and punctuation and keep your communication clear and concise.
Quantitative ability
This is a multiple-choice round with a mix of logic and arithmetic questions. Avoid guessing since negative marking is applicable. Some important topics in the this section include numbers, time and work, averages, mixtures and alligation, data arrangements, permutations and combinations, ratios and proportions, profit and loss, time, speed and distance, blood relations, probability, ages, clocks and Sudoku.
Programming language proficiency
In this new round, candidates are expected to answer 10 multiple-choice questions related to basic programming concepts on C language in 20 minutes.
Coding test
Here you will be given 20 minutes to solve one programming question in C using an inbuilt compiler. The code must be written using Command Line Arguments. Practice basic programming such as HCF, LCM, factorial, Fibonacci series, string programs, sum of number, even/odd, leap year etc.
Note: Students with more than 8.5 or 80 % respectively have to just appear for the verbal section i.e, the email writing.
The students with rank under 1000 in CodeVita round 1 will be allowed to skip the written round and appear directly for interviews.
Analytical Reasoning
This section tests your quantitative and reasoning ability. Time management is critical. Try and solve the easy questions first before attempting the difficult ones. There are certain ‘star’ questions that carry more marks; don’t get stuck on these unless you are confident of solving them quickly since it could upset your time management. Instead, return after solving the easy questions.
Programming Language Efficiency
This is a new round introduced by TCS where candidates must answer 10 multiple choice questions on C language based on basic programming concepts.
Personal Interviews
This includes three rounds—technical, managerial and HR. The managerial round may be omitted depending on the discretion of the employers.

Round 2: Technical Round
Choose two domains or technologies as your specialization and study them in depth including new versions and updates. Cover the general programming concepts. Knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python language is a plus. Be prepared for detailed questions on the projects you’ve worked on. Please beforehand study about projects you mentioned in your resume, this could be your best impression towards employer. You could also be asked to write programs during the interview.

Round 3: Managerial Round
This is a stress interview intended to gauge your response to a pressure situation. Expect brain teasers, deliberate efforts to confound you, skepticism, and emotional intimidation. Much depends on your interviewer.
Round 4: HR Round
This is where they assess things like your attitude and fitment in the company, apart from informing you about the terms and conditions of employment. Expect standard HR questions on why you want to join the company, why you think you’re a better choice than other candidates, your strengths and weaknesses, apart from behavioral questions.
In the interview rounds, remember that you are constantly being judged on your confidence, personality, and soft skills, so remain calm and make an effort to be pleasant even if you are under strain. While the recruitment process may seem quite rigorous, a few weeks of preparation could give you a good shot at getting selected. So prepare well and apply. It could be an ideal launchpad for your career! All the best.
