TCS Digital Interview Experience (On-Campus) 2023

For my campus, TCS was visited at the beginning of July Month. Initially, They have kept a test called NQT(National Qualifier Test) across all Tier-I Colleges and Universities. 

Round1(NQT Test):

• The test duration was 3hr(Approx.). The test contains both sections one is the foundation and the advanced.
• The Foundation section contains Aptitude(both verbal and quants).
• I have written well the foundation section and moved to the advanced section.
• In the advanced section, we will be having two sections i.e. aptitude(both verbal and quants) and coding.
• In advanced aptitude, there will be some MCQs and some Integer Valued Answers(same as in gate).
• Coming to coding questions, I got two coding questions, one is from array manipulation and string regex.

Round2(TR, MR, and HR Interview): I was able to clear both foundation and advanced sections in the NQT test and was shortlisted for a Digital interview(around 200 were shortlisted). My interview lasted about 1 hr.

Firstly, when I entered the interview call they kept my call on hold for around 30 min. Then after, HR replied, Hi and asked to show the Govt. ID card and took the pic of me with holding govt. ID card(PAN card). Then the call is taken to the tech lead and started asking technical questions.

Technical Interview: These all are questions are they asked. They focused more on cybersecurity.

• What is the difference between authorization and authentication?
• What is CIA? ( Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability)
• Then she asked which programming language you are comfortable with. , I said Java.

Then she asked questions about java.

• How is memory allocated in Java?
• How do you handle the exceptions in Java? 
• What is polymorphism? (Method overloading and method overriding)
• What is multithreading?

Then she asked two coding questions that are similar to the below ones:

• https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/convert-number-to-words/
• chess board, we have to determine(either black or white)

I was able to answer both the coding questions. Then after the call is transferred to the Manger.

Managerial Round: Firstly he greeted me and I also greeted him.

Then he asked the following questions:

• Do you know about IoT?
• He asked about my project. I explained to him.
• What is an Embedded system? (As one of my projects is from an embedded system)
• Give one example for an embedded system.

Then he asked do you have any plans to go higher studies and situational-based questions?

Then after the call was transferred to HR again.

HR Interview: HR interview was chill and asked the following questions:

• Are you ok with night shifts?
• Are you ok with relocation?
• What is your favorite place in India?
• What is the happiest moment in your life?

I waited for about 1 month after giving the interview, then the results were announced and I was present in the selected list. They selected 15 students among 300 students after the interview.
