Standard Chartered GBS visited MKSSS Cummins College of Engineering, Pune for Cyber Security Role. This experience is for Cyber Security Role.

Eligibility Criteria: All branches were allowed with CGPA>7.00 and no active backlogs.

Round 1: Behavioral Round (Strength Test) [NON-ELIMINATION]: It consists of 20 situational based questions that we can face working in the organization. We have to drag and drop the options mentioned, forming a sequence of steps that we would follow in that situation. There was no time limit for this round.

Round 2: Logical Reasoning: It consists of 12 questions, each question has to be solved in 75 seconds. There was a 3*3 matrix in each question out of which 8 columns were filled, and we have to choose the 9th column from the below 8-10 given options. The cut-off was 40 percentiles for this round. The results for the tests were pre-recorded and our performance in this round was compared with those results and then percentile was calculated. Results were sent directly by email within 5 minutes.

In this round timing was crucial, and the questions were based on pattern matching.

Round 3: Numerical Reasoning: It comprised 4 questions and each question was in tabular form. Each question had 3 sub-questions based on the table. So a total of 12 questions. The time limit for the first question was 90 secs and for the remaining two was 75 secs each. The questions were moderate to difficult. The options were around 50 for each question so selecting the answer quickly was important.

Again, timing mattered, and we had to press the submit button for every question, else the answer was not recorded.

After this total of 10 students were shortlisted for the next round.

Round 4 (Technical Interview 1): The platform for the interview was BlueJeans. According to my personal opinion, this interview focused on two aspects of the candidate:

  1. The projects mentioned in your resume.
  2. Your attitude towards teamwork, eagerness to learn.

It was quite an interactive round and my interviewer mentioned work culture and her experience at Standard Chartered. The interview lasted for around 25-30 minutes.

Round 5 (Technical Interview 2): After the first round of interviews for all shortlisted candidates, a mail was received for the next round.

The interviewer was the leading cybersecurity department at Standard Chartered GBS. He started the interview by giving his introduction and then asked me to introduce myself. He then asked me about my projects, methodologies used, and the end result of each project.

He then moved on to some behavioral questions and gave me situations and asked my reaction for the same.

At the end of the interview, he asked me to ask a question. I asked- Standard Chartered bank plans to use Azure’s artificial intelligence and data analytics capabilities to help automate banking processes. How will this revolutionize the services provided?

The round lasted for about 30-35 minutes.

Round 6 (HR Interview Telephonic): I received a call from HR at around 5 PM on the same day.

He asked:

  1. How the day was and interview experience till now. I replied positively and mentioned that the process was smooth right from online tests, PrePlacement Talk, and interviews.
  2. Family background
  3. Preferred location of work (Bangalore/Chennai).

After the questions, he explained to me the role in detail (Cyber Security and Data Management). He then gave me the CTC breakdown and asked me to wait for the results and hope for the best.

3 students were selected finally.
