The filter() method is utilized to select all elements of the map which satisfies a stated predicate.
Method Definition: def filter(p: ((A, B))=> Boolean): Map[A, B]
Return Type: It returns a new map consisting all the elements of the map which satisfies the given predicate.
Example #1:
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val m 1 = Map( "geeks" - > 5 , "for" - > 3 )
val result = m 1 .filter(x => x. _ 1 == "geeks" && x. _ 2 == 5 )
println(result)
}
}
|
Example #2:
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val m 1 = Map( "geeks" - > 5 , "for" - > 3 )
val result = m 1 .filter(x => x. _ 1 == "for" && x. _ 2 == 5 )
println(result)
}
}
|
Here, an empty map is returned as none of the elements satisfy the stated predicate.
