SBI PO 2023 Notification: SBI PO exam is conducted by the State Bank of India for the selection of Probationary Officers (PO). SBI PO 2023 Eligibility Criteria

A. Education Qualification

The Govt. recognized Graduation in any discipline from a University Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

B. Age Limit

The minimum age of a candidate will not be less than 21 years, and the maximum age will not be more than 30 years (Age must be calculated according to a particular date mentioned in the official notification of the SBI PO exam 2023).

Relaxation of age:

  • 3 years for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates
  • 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates

C. Nationality / Citizenship

The Candidate must be either – 

  • A Citizen of India or
  • A Subject of Nepal or
  • A Subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin and he/she has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

C. Interview

Based on the score obtained in the Main examination, candidates will be shortlisted, and subsequently be called for an interview, conducted by the SBI. Because of the Social Distancing and safety measures necessitated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Phase III may comprise:

  • Interview only (carries 50 marks); or
  • Interview (carries 30 marks) & Group Exercises (carries 20 marks).

Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks in Phase III to be considered for final selection and the minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the SBI. In the Group Exercises phase, there would be two parts, each carrying 10 marks:

  1. Group Discussion (10 Marks)
  2. Prioritization activity (10 Marks)

D. Scores Counting Methods in Different Stages of Exam

  • Penalty for wrong answers applies to both the Preliminary exam and the Online mode of the Main examination. For each wrong question given by the candidate one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. If a question is left unanswered, there will be no penalty for that particular question.
  • The score obtained by giving a correct answer by each of the candidates of different sessions (if held) will be normalized using the equi-percentile method. Scores up to two decimal points shall be taken for calculations.
  • The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase III for preparing the final merit list.
  • In the final merit list, the candidates are shortlisted based on the combined final score obtained by the candidates in Phase-II and Phase III; the weightage (ratio) of Phase-II and Phase III will be 75:25 respectively.
