Samsung visited our campus for conducting an offline hiring process on 2 November. for the role of R&D Engineer. The whole process was offline. Around 350 students were shortlisted for round 1.

ONLINE ASSESSMENT: There were one coding ques of medium level based on recursion. There were 50 test cases and you need to pass them all in order to get shortlisted for the interview round.

Even if you pass 49 test cases, you won’t get shortlisted for an interview. A maximum of 10 submissions were allowed for the same. There was an option to copy the sample inputs which I didn’t know initially but since the test took place in an offline mode so the Samsung official came to my desk and helped me with that. I’d been targeting Samsung for a long so I had practiced multiple coding questions that Samsung generally asks and hence I was able to pass all the test cases within an hour although 3 hours were provided to us for the same. A platform for the test was Samsung SW professional.

Round 2 (Technical): 12 students were shortlisted for the interview round on the basis of the coding test that had taken place earlier. I was one of them. My technical interview was taken by a Samsung official who had been working with Samsung for the past 12 years. So, the interview begins with my introduction and then he started by asking me about the projects I have worked on in my college time. I made an android application using java which gave me an edge over others because Samsung Noida majorly works on mobile development. Next, he bombarded me with DSA questions – what are the data structures you know, find a cycle in a graph by DFS/BFS both, BST questions. Post that, he asked me by which approach did I solve the online test questions. He was asking me to write the code of everything while explaining. After writing the approach he cross-questioned me. Then he moved to a linked list and stack question. After he figured out that I’m good with DSA, he moved on to OS. I answered almost each and every question correctly and confidently. Fortunately, I got shortlisted for the HR interview.

Round 3 (HR round): It was a very different experience for me. The HR right away told me that I’d already showcased my technical skills in the earlier rounds so I now just need to be the Rahul that I am. We had a candid conversation that revolved around me, my friends, my likings, my disliking, etc. I made sure to add a pinch of humor in the conversation in order for us to be more comfortable, which luckily worked out for me since we’d become really good friends by the end of the interview.

3 students were selected including me.
