Required Skill:C/C++/Java/Python, DSA

Eligibility Criteria:7+ CGPA with NO UR/ Backlogs

I appeared in the on-campus drive for Samsung R&D Institute India — Bangalore in November 2022. I think it was an excellent experience. There were only 2 rounds – 1 online assessment, 1 deep technical interview

Round 1: Online Assessment: It was conducted in the AON test portal. We were given 3 coding questions to solve in 70 minutes. Below are the three questions I got in OA

Fortunately, I had practiced all of the questions beforehand, so it didn’t take long for me to answer them. Everyone tries to solve as many questions as possible before OA. After 2 days, the OA results came, and I was shortlisted and informed that there will be only a deep technical interview of at most 45 minutes.

 Round 2:Technical Interview: It was conducted in Microsoft Teams, and my interview was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. The interviewer is also from my college so he introduced himself and asked me to introduce myself and then he moved on to technical questions. Initially, I was a bit nervous and couldn’t answer correctly but the interviewer is very helpful and he gave hints to help me. So, don’t worry if you are giving wrong answers and try to correct them as soon as possible.

In my Intro, I told him that my favorite subjects are DSA and OS and he mostly asked questions from OS only

In the end, I asked some questions about the work culture and ongoing tech stacks at Samsung. I have been interviewed for nearly 2 hours and other shortlisted candidates have been interviewed for 40-60 minutes only.

The next day results are out and I have been selected.

Verdict: Selected

Tips:

  • Always go for your strengths.
  • Try to stress your strengths in your intro itself so the interviewer mostly asks questions from your strengths only.
  • Good with Basic CS subjects, especially OS, OOPs, and DBMS. Prepare DSA logic well.
  • Don’t be concerned, and don’t let a single incorrect answer ruin your entire interview. Try to correct yourself as soon as possible. Your approach matters the most.
  • If you are not able to solve a coding question in the interview then tell the interviewer to give another one.
  • Go through all the previous experiences, it will give you confidence.
