Difficulty Level: Easy

Robert Bosch visited our campus to hire for the role of Associate Software Engineer and Assistant Software Engineer for CS, IT, ECE, and EEE branches were eligible. There were three rounds involved in the process.

Eligibility Criteria:  Minimum 60% or 6 CGPA in B.tech only of all previous semesters with no standing backlogs.

786 students were considered for the Robert Bosch 1st online test. The test was scheduled for 21st June.

Round – 1 (Online Test): In this round online assessment has 5-6 sections comprising Technical, Logical, Quantitative, Communication, and Specialization / Coding based on your engineering branch/specialization.

  • This round contains MCQs and the test duration is between 100 to 120 minutes. As my branch was Electronics and Communication so this round contains MCQs from Power Electronics, Basic Electronics, Integrated Circuits, 8085 MicroProcessor, and some from Analog Electronics.
  • For CS/IT students MCQs were from DBMS, OS, CN, and one coding question (Medium) and you can choose any language(Java, C++, Python).

After this round within 2 – 3 days, I got shortlisted mail. Around 435 students were shortlisted for the next round out of 786.

On 25th June, they conducted the Pre Placement talk “Bosch Day” on campus. After Bosch Day, our Technical Interview got scheduled.

Technical Interview (Online Mode): This round started with a little introduction, then she asked me about my projects and asked me everything about the project and how the project is working, and how I got the idea for the project.

  • The time duration of the interview was around 30 minutes and she asked many questions.
  • What is the difference between RAM and ROM?
  • Types of memory present in microprocessors and in microcontrollers?
  • What are a counter and timer?
  • What is the difference between n-p-n and p-n-p transistors and their working?
  • She gives me one large decimal number and asked me to convert it into octal and hexadecimal respectively within 2 minutes time span.
  • What are the four pillars of OOPS then she asked me to explain about each of the four pillars Inheritance, Encapsulation, Abstraction, and Polymorphism with examples.

She asked many questions from C++ and OOPs and one coding question.

I was able to give all the answers correctly. The interviewer was very impressed and wished me all the best for the future. There was no HR round for the candidates selected in Technical Interview.

Result: Selected for Associate Software Engineer.

Tips for the interview :

  • Clear your basics of electronics and basic questions of any programming language.
  • In the technical interview round, they ask about projects so you must have good knowledge of your projects and everything you should know about your project.
  • Mention only those stuff in your resume that you can explain well.

All the best!
