If the ages of Jacob, Max and Samuel are in the proportion 3:5:7 and the average of their ages is 25 years, then find the age of the youngest person.
(A) 15 years
(B) 10 years
(C) 7 years
(D) 18 years

Answer: (A)

Explanation: Let their ages be 3a, 5a and 7a. Then,
(3a + 5a + 7a) / 3 = 25
=> 15a/3 = 25
=> 5a = 25
=> a = 5
Therefore, age of the youngest person = 3a = 15 years
