Then,

Therefore, (6a + 5):(7a + 5) = 7:8

⇒ 8×(6a + 5) = 7×(7a + 5)

⇒ 48a + 40 = 49a + 35

⇒ a = 5.

Hence, the present age of Rosan = (7a + 1) = 7×5 + 1 = 35 + 1 = 36 years.
