In this article, we will see how we can enable keyboard input handling the MediaPlayer object in the python vlc module. VLC media player is a free and open-source portable cross-platform media player software and streaming media server developed by the VideoLAN project. MediaPlayer object is the basic object in vlc module for playing the video. By keyboard handling one can create event handler and can take keyboard input to do actions.
In order to do this we will use video_set_key_input method with the MediaPlayer object
Syntax : media_player.video_set_key_input(True)
Argument : It takes bool as argument
Return : It returns None
Below is the implementation
Python3
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media( "death_note.mkv" )
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.video_set_key_input( True )
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 5 )
|
Output :
Another example :
Below is the implementation
Python3
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media( "1mp4.mkv" )
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.video_set_key_input( True )
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 5 )
|
