Last Updated :
26 Jun, 2020
In Reddit, we can post a comment to any submission, we can also comment on a comment to create a thread of comments. Each comment has a permanent static hyperlink affiliated to it. Here we will see how to fetch the permalink of a comment using PRAW. We will be using the permalink
attribute of the Comment
class to fetch the permalink of a comment.
Example 1 : Consider the following comment :
The ID of the comment is : fvib7aw
import praw
client_id = ""
client_secret = ""
username = ""
password = ""
user_agent = ""
reddit = praw.Reddit(client_id = client_id,
client_secret = client_secret,
username = username,
password = password,
user_agent = user_agent)
comment_id = "fvib7aw"
comment = reddit.comment(comment_id)
permalink = comment.permalink
print ( "The permalink of the comment is : \n" + permalink)
print ( "\nThe complete URL of the comment is : \n" +
|
Output :
The permalink of the comment is :
/r/aww/comments/hczt0c/i_got_adopted_by_this_beautiful_pup_this_weekend/fvib7aw/
The complete URL of the comment is :
https://www.reddit.com//r/aww/comments/hczt0c/i_got_adopted_by_this_beautiful_pup_this_weekend/fvib7aw/
Example 2 : Consider the following comment:
The ID of the comment is : fv9qvgo
import praw
client_id = ""
client_secret = ""
username = ""
password = ""
user_agent = ""
reddit = praw.Reddit(client_id = client_id,
client_secret = client_secret,
username = username,
password = password,
user_agent = user_agent)
comment_id = "fv9qvgo"
comment = reddit.comment(comment_id)
permalink = comment.permalink
print ( "The permalink of the comment is : \n" + permalink)
print ( "\nThe complete URL of the comment is : \n" +
|
Output :
The permalink of the comment is :
/r/redditdev/comments/hbjhnk/reddit_announces_an_upcoming_overhaul_of_how_bots/fv9qvgo/
The complete URL of the comment is :
