PyQt5 QCalendarWidget – Continue functions by enabling
  • Last Updated : 03 Jun, 2020

In this article we will see how we can continue the functions of the QCalendarWidget. Stopping function means that the QCalendarWidget will not be able to do a single thing like selection changing date etc. Disabling the calendar do not delete or hide the widget from the screen. Disabling is used to stop the user from doing any changes on it, but by enabling the it will resume all the functions.

In order to do this we will use setEnabled method with the QCalendarWidget object.

Syntax : calender.setEnabled(True)

Argument : It takes bool as argument

Return : It return None

Below is the implementation

# importing libraries
from PyQt5.QtWidgets import *
from PyQt5 import QtCore, QtGui
from PyQt5.QtGui import *
from PyQt5.QtCore import *
import sys
class Window(QMainWindow):
    def __init__(self):
        # setting title
        self.setWindowTitle("Python ")
        # setting geometry
        self.setGeometry(100, 100, 600, 400)
        # calling method
        # showing all the widgets
    # method for components
    def UiComponents(self):
        # creating a QCalendarWidget object
        calender = QCalendarWidget(self)
        # setting geometry to the calender
        calender.setGeometry(10, 10, 400, 250)
        # disabling the calendar
        # push button
        push = QPushButton("Enable", self)
        # setting geometry to the button
        push.setGeometry(100, 280, 100, 30)
        # adding method to it
        # inside the method enable the calendar
        push.clicked.connect(lambda: calender.setEnabled(True))
# create pyqt5 app
App = QApplication(sys.argv)
# create the instance of our Window
window = Window()
# start the app
