Project Title: AR Search
Introduction and Conceptual framework:
AR Search is an Android app based on the latest technologies. The technologies we used in the project to develop Augmented Reality are Unity, Vuforia Ground Plane Support, Vuforia Plane Finder, IBM Watson, Google Custom Search JSON API. ARS (Augmented Reality Search) is an idea of image search and displaying searched images in augmented reality. Suppose I am planning to visit Kerala and I want to know best visiting places in Kerala then I will just make a voice command to the App and IBM Watson API will convert voice command into text and send it to Google Custom Search API then GCS API will return Image URL in the form of JSON data then using Vuforia which will provide Augmented Reality environment. We will display all the related image in Augmented Reality.
To utilize the app in the actual sense and to get the feel of it we have to use Google Cardboard.
Suppose I want to search NIT Warangal!
Tools Used: C#, Unity, Vuforia, IBM Watson API, Google Custom Search API.
In its next level we try to build it is such a way where on opening the app, there is a camera view in the room. Upon tapping, there will be an augmented reality “portal” to another city, where you physically walk inside another “room” and view a gallery of AR scenes from the city.
Note: IBM Watson API is free only for one month trial and Google Custom Search API is also free but limited like (It will answer only 100 requests in a day but we can increase the number of request by paying the amount)
Application: Use of this App is to make your search more exciting.
