Pinning a Workbook on the Dashboard in Power BI
We are given a workspace, name, geeks_for_geeks. For example, we have a workbook time_series.csv, and our task is to select a particular data in the spreadsheet and pin it to a new dashboard.
The following are the steps:
Step 1: Go to the required workspace. For example, geeks_for_geeks. Now, select the workbook, time_series.csv.
Step 2: The workbook is opened. We can view the excel spreadsheet. Select the data, you want to pin to the dashboard. For example, the range selected is A1:E8.
Step 3: On the right side of the workbook, click on the Pin button.
Step 4: A dialogue box name, Pin to dashboard is opened. Now, we have two choices, rather pin to the dashboard which is already existing, or create a new dashboard. For example, we choose New dashboard, write the name of the dashboard, workbook_dashboard. Click on the Pin button.
Step 5: A new dialogue box name, Pinned to dashboard. Click on the Go to dashboard.
Step 6: You will be reached out to a newly created dashboard, and you can view the selected portion that has been shown in the dashboard. We have successfully pinned the workbook to a dashboard.
Step 7: One can also view that workbook_dashboard has been added to the workspace.
