The Imagick::getOption() function is an inbuilt function in PHP which is used to get a value associated with the specified key.

Syntax:

string Imagick::getOption( string $key )

Parameters: This function accepts a single parameter $key which holds the name of option.

Return Value: This function returns a string value containing the value associated with the key.

Exceptions: This function throws ImagickException on error.

Below given programs illustrate the Imagick::getOption() function in PHP:

Program 1:

// Create a new imagick object
$imagick = new Imagick(
  
// Get the option with key 'key1'
$option = $imagick->getOption('key1');
echo $option;
?>


Output:

//Empty string because it is the default value.

Program 2:

// Create a new imagick object
$imagick = new Imagick(
  
// Set the option
$imagick->setOption('key1', 'option1');
  
// Get the option with key 'key1'
$option = $imagick->getOption('key1');
echo $option;
?>
