Oracle came to our college for the position of Member Technical Staff. The cut-off was 7 CGPA and the position was open for CSE, ECE, and EE branches.

There were total 4 rounds: 1 online Technical Test and 3 Tech Interview rounds(Online)

Round 1 (Technical Test): It consists of 1 coding question based on LCS, 1 SQL query writing question, 1 question based on Rest API, and 9 MCQ questions based on Data Structures and algorithms. It was a total of 105 minutes.

Round 2 (Technical Round): The Interviewer asked me to introduce myself first and then went on asking about my internship experience.

The Interviewer asked me to share the screen and open one text editor. He asked me about OOPs: What is OOPs? What are some pillars of OOPs? What are polymorphism and inheritance? He asked me to write some code in order to explain. He also asked me how polymorphism is achieved.

Be clear about whatever you speak about yourself, they are going to emphasize each and everything and will cross question you on that. He asked me what do you mean by responsive UI, what is bootstrap and why did you use that in my project.

I was able to answer all the questions, and at last, he asked me if I had any questions for him. It went for about 30-35 mins.

I was waiting in a waiting room and then I was informed that I had been selected for Round 3 and can join after having my lunch.

Round 3 (Technical Round): Coding Round + Web Development Round(Because I have done projects in it)

  1. She shared the hacker rank editor link and asked me to implement a linked list, perform insertion from head & tail, deletion & replacement of a key, and print the nodes.
  2. She asked me some questions on HTML, CSS, and React. Why do you use React? Difference between SQL and Non-SQL databases? Why did you choose MongoDB over others?
  3. She asked me some questions on Python and then I told her that I had switched to C++ after some time so I only remember the basics now.  Also, about difference between passing by reference and passing as a variable, what to use when?

If you don’t know something just tell them that you’re not aware of this and you will explore it. They totally understand that no one knows everything. Technology is a very vast aspect in itself.

Round 4(Technical + HR Round): The Interviewer asked me to introduce her to the real me(Not the technical me). She was expecting an honest answer not the one we mugged up. She saw one of the projects and pointed out some mistakes in it. She talked about the values that I learned during my internship and talked about my hobbies.

The Result came later at midnight and I wasn’t selected 🙂 But it was a nice experience.
