Standard Sales Order Scenarios:

  1.  Sales Order Picking completed and the customer wants to change the ship to location?
    Ans: Yes, we can change.
  2. Sales Order Picking completed and the customer wants to change the ship date to next month
    Ans: Yes, we can change.
  3. Is it possible to create a sales order with zero price & zero invoices?
    Ans: Yes, a Sales Order can be created with Zero price and an Invoice can be generated for Zero, which means Zero invoice is allowed
  4. Is it possible to change customers after the sales order is submitted?
    Ans: No
  5. Is that possible to change/replace the item after the sales order is submitted?
    Ans: During sales order revision you can cancel the original item and add a new line for the new item
  6. A requirement to create one invoice for the entire sales order?
    Ans: We need to create a Pause step before the invoice step in the orchestration and have to write a condition to wait till all the lines are shipped to interface the data to AR/Receivables.
  7. For all the sales orders by default scheduled ship date is set after 5 days and later according to the stock availability users will edit the scheduled ship date, how do achieve this?
    Ans: Create ATP Rule with a user-defined lead time of 5 days.

    Ans: If a sales order is cancelled – in the orchestration reservation step gets cancelled automatically which means stock gets unallocated and available in the stage sub inventory, we can perform sub inventory transfer to send back to the source sub-inventory or can use it for the next sales order and our picker need not pick again since quantity already in the stage area.
  9. What is meant by back order sales order?
    Ans: If there is no onhand automatically sales order status changes to back ordered and in case of partial shipment also remaining quantity status changes to back ordered
  10. How do perform Auto pick & Auto-ship?
    Ans: Create a pick wave release rule by enabling the ‘Autopickconfirm & Create shipconfirm’ checkboxes to Yes
  11. What changes are allowed during sales order revision?
    Ans: Item quantity, request date, customer ship to/bill to, price, ship method, shipment priority, payment terms & fulfilment.

     Dropship Sales Order Scenarios:

  1. What is the difference between Dropship & Back to back
    Ans: Dropship: The supplier directly delivers the product to the customer and we don’t maintain inventory.
    • Advantages: Saving time, transportation cost, inventory holding cost, damage of the goods, and life span of the product.
    • BacktoBack: We receive the product from the supplier against the sales order and we perform picking & shipping from our warehouse.
  2. After the purchase order is created is it possible to change the scheduled ship date in the sales order?
    Ans: Yes, the changes are automatically processed/updated in the purchase order
  3. After the purchase order is created is it possible to change the ship-to location in the sales order?
    Ans: Yes, the changes are automatically processed/updated in the purchase order

    Ans:
    • Step1:  Application Flow: Against drop ship sales order we have to create a Return sales order under Shipment Details, then set the attribute: Request Type -> Arrive On
    • On the order line, set the Return Location attribute to the location where your supplier can receive the item.
    • Step 2: Order Management automatically creates a return material authorization and sends it to Procurement when you submit the return order.
    • Step 3: Receive the returned item into inventory.
    • Step 4: Return the item to your supplier.
    • Do this step to make sure that the warehouse returns the item to your supplier and depletes the quantity that you returned to inventory.
  10.  If you cancel the dropship sales order will automatically cancel the respective PR & PO?
    Ans: Yes, PR & PO get cancelled
  11. Back-to-Back Sales Order Scenarios: Let’s say there is an onhand-600 and create back-to-back sales orders for 1000 qty will the supply order create 1000 or 400?
    Ans: Supply created for 400
  12. Where you can see Back to back sales order numbers in the purchase order?

    Ans: Yes, GOP recalculates and updates the scheduled ship date in the sales order

After enabling the profile option: Use Global Order Promising to Recalculate Dates in Order Management:
If you enable this option, and if dates change in procurement, manufacturing, or inventory, then use GOP to calculate dates on sales orders in drop ship or back-to-back flows.
