There are many forms of Government which include Dictatorship, Aristocracy, Communalism, Republic, and Monarchy. Democracy is the best form of Government in many ways:

  1. It ensures the individual freedom
  2. It ensures the individual security
  3. It ensures the individual their rights which were provided to all the citizens.
  4. It ensures the individual resolves their conflicts.
  5. It provides room to correct own mistakes.

Democracy as a better form of Government

In the democratic setup, all the leaders are collectively responsible whether of state or center, for any act or any rule all the ministers are responsible either of state, cabinet, or council.

In the democratic form of government majority wins. This simply means that whosoever party won the majority can constitute the government, so this simply means that all the political parties have equal opportunities to get the maximum number of votes and form the government. In the democratic type of government, all the people have equal rights, in this if the majority opinions were considered then minority opinions are also considered.

Democracy as Accountable, Responsive, and Legitimate

Democracy is known for being Accountable, Responsive, and Legitimate. People have the right to choose their leader. This can be possible in a Democracy type of Government. In democratic types of Government, Elected Representatives are accountable for each decision they are to make. So, the citizens participate in each and all decisions making. If they make the wrong decisions then the citizens do not elect them. So, the government must decision according to the needs and demands of the citizens.

Democracy form of government known for the Regular, Free, and Fair elections. It means that all citizens should participate in this election process and no people should be debarred from this election process because of religion, caste, community, creed, etc. People are involved in decision-making by taking active participation in debate and discussion on major policies and legislation, it is critical for transparency and freedom from corruption.

Leaders have to work on the Growth and Development of a country these leaders have to make policies on the global situation, cooperation with other countries, and also make some economic policies that tend to the growth and development of a country.

Democracy Followed Differently Around the World

There are different types of democracies found in the world:

  1. Direct democracy: In this, all males of the country have the right to take participate in the election.
  2. Representatives democracy: This refers to the democracy in which people elect their representatives, and they form the government. In this, all the people are free to elect their representatives. In this separate institution can be seen and all work independently.

Outcomes of Democracy

  • Democracy does not talk about the majority opinions only, but it also talks about the minority opinions too.
  • Democracy bestows an equal opportunity to every citizen of the country ad it remains the same until democracy lies within the country.
  • In Democracy Political Parties usually take care of that representatives of different castes ad tribes, which helps in strengthening Democracy by giving equal opportunities to the people
  • Democracy also discusses transparency in the country, so for this right to information RTI (2005) was introduced in all government departments it ensures the rights of each citizen to get all the information and function of the government department.
  • Democracy also ensures and strengthens the status of women by giving reservations in the entire field. Like, it provides that 1/3rd of seats are reserved for a woman candidate in the Panchayati RAJ institution.
    So, these are some measures through which we assess the outcome of Democracy.

In a democracy, there should be some rights that are fundaments in nature provided so the majority of the countries adopt the democracy type of government, in this type of government people, have security, and freedom so people also want to have this type of government.
