Node.js | zlib.inflateRawSync() Method

  • Last Updated : 13 Mar, 2020

The zlib.inflateRawSync() method is an inbuilt application programming interface of the Zlib module which is used to decompress a chunk of data with InflateRaw.

Syntax:

zlib.inflateRawSync( buffer, options )

Parameters: This method accepts two parameters as mentioned above and described below:

  • buffer: This parameter holds the buffer of type Buffer, TypedArray, DataView, ArrayBuffer, string.
  • options: This parameter holds the zlib options value.

Return Value: It returns the chunk of data with InflateRaw.

Below examples illustrate the use of zlib.inflateRawSync() method in Node.js:

Example 1:

// Node.js program to demonstrate the
// inflateRawSync() method

// Including zlib module
var zlib = require('zlib');

// Declaring input and assigning
// it a value string
var input = "GeeksforGeeks";

// Calling deflateRawSync method
var deflatedRS = zlib.deflateRawSync(input);

// Calling inflateRawSync method
var inflatedRS = zlib.inflateRawSync(
    new Buffer.from(deflatedRS)).toString();

console.log(inflatedRS);

Output:

GeeksforGeeks

Example 2:

// Node.js program to demonstrate the
// inflateRawSync() method

// Including zlib module
var zlib = require('zlib');

// Declaring input and assigning
// it a value string
var input = "GeeksforGeeks";

// Calling deflateRawSync method
var deflatedRS = zlib.deflateRawSync(
        input).toString('hex')

// Calling inflateRawSync method
var inflatedRS = zlib.inflateRawSync(new Buffer.from(
        deflatedRS, 'hex')).toString('hex');

console.log(inflatedRS);

Output:

4765656b73666f724765656b73
