NoBroker Interview Experience for Data Science FTE | On-Campus 2021

Mode of Placement: On-Campus Placements, December 2021

Overall Experience: The NoBroker team is extremely interactive and ensures that the interviewee is comfortable. They happily step forward to help one during the interview if one is stuck anywhere, so make sure you’re thinking your approach to the solution aloud.  Your intuition in Data Science will matter a lot. 

Online Test: conducted on Hackerrank. 

Round 1(Case-Based Round): I was given the context to a business problem with the objective of converting it into a Machine Learning problem. I was then asked to walk through my solution to the same, end to end. 

• Context: In layman’s terms, NoBroker is a website where customers upload properties they want to sell and buyers(also customers) look for the properties that fulfil their requirements. 
• The Data Science team at NoBroker ensures that all properties which are uploaded by sellers get their due visibility, especially according to relevance wrt the buyer’s needs. This is known as the Discovery problem and the task is to build a system that overcomes the same. 
• Hint to the solution: Think of it like building a recommender system, and what features you would like to include to build such a system. 

Round 2(Resume and Basic ML): I was asked to explain certain projects in my resume, especially the ones where I could be tested on the technical depth in Machine Learning/Data Science. I was also asked a few basic questions on Machine Learning. 

Verdict: Selected for the position of Associate Data Scientist
