Network Security Toolkit is a great utility that can be used as a network security analysis validation and monitoring tool on enterprise virtual servers hosting virtual machines. It offers a variety of methods and tools for one to monitor and analyze networks across various systems, whether it is a virtual machine running on servers, or some other local networks running on your own computer system. Linux-based live USB. DVD Flash drive provides free and open-source computer security and networking tools to perform routine security and networking analysis.

Install Network Security Toolkit:

1. Download the ISO image of the Network Security Toolkit.

2. Open the Virtual Box and Click on the new option to create a new instance with the NST ISO image.

3. After clicking on the new option, you will be prompted with a window in which we need to provide the details of the instance we are creating.

  • Fill in the details as shown in the image below, and you can give any name to the machine of your choice.

4. You will now be asked to provide the RAM memory size that is RAM to our instance.

5. Now you will be asked to select the storage type whether we want virtual storage or not, just go with the recommended settings as shown below in the image.

6. Now we need to select the virtual storage disk type again no need to change, just go with the recommended option shown in the image.

7. Now we want our storage to be dynamic so that we will be able to change it afterward if we need more storage to work with, so select the option Dynamically located as shown in the image below.

8. Now provide the storage capacity you want to provide for NST in your virtual box, again you can choose it as per your system configurations if you have plenty of space on your system you can go with 50 GB that will be enough. If you have low space, you can go down to up to 8 GB.

  • Now when you click on create it will create an instance with all the configurations we just mentioned, now all we require is to attach the ISO image file we downloaded earlier to run our NST.

9. click on Settings and go under storage option, here you will find a disk image click on that image to open the menu to add ISO images.

10. Now click on the add option and select the ISO image file we downloaded earlier for NST and click OK.

  • After this step, we are all set to start our NST virtual machine.

11. Click on the start button to start the virtual machine for the NST instance. This process might take some time as it is installing and configuring the ISO image file for your NST.

As we can see from the above image we have successfully installed our Network Security Toolkit in Virtual Box, this is again a very powerful tool which can allow users to monitor and analyze different types of networks, and it comes with lots of handy tools in it which can be used in many ways to explore through a network and learn.
