Microsoft 360 Windows Copilot: Your Personal AI Virtual Assistant

Is it time to say goodbye to Cortona? Microsoft is rolling out Windows CoPilot which will be your personal virtual assistant and help you ease your business functions through AI-powered solutions. 

Microsoft is leaving no stone unturned to ace this race of integrating AI technology across all its products. The leading tech company introduced “Windows CoPilot”, an AI assistant for business users. The Windows CoPilot that uses the ChatGPT language models, precisely the GPT-4 technology will assist Microsoft Office users with their business needs.

“Today marks the next major step in the evolution of how we interact with computing, which will fundamentally change the way we work and unlock a new wave of productivity growth. With our new copilot for work, we’re giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through the most universal interface — natural language.”, said Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, of Microsoft.

The feature is being introduced to reduce the workload of the users and prevent them from doing repetitive tasks making it available across programs. The CoPilot assistant will be able to rewrite, generate and summarize content for you. Users will also be able to ask the CoPilot personalized questions and it will generate the answers for you.

Microsoft in their blog post explained the functionality and capabilities of CoPilot.

“Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 in two ways. It works alongside you, embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more — to unleash creativity, unlock productivity, and uplevel skills. 

Business Chat works across the LLM, the Microsoft 365 apps, and your data to do things you’ve never been able to do before. You can give it natural language prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” and it will generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails, and chat threads.”

The Windows CoPilot is integrated into Windows 11 and the assistant can be easily accessed through a simple button available on the taskbar. The AI can also be customized in terms of tone of voice, format, and length to generate outputs as per the needs of the customers.

The company is constantly looking forward to building a new era of business applications through the integration of AI systems. Microsoft had already announced the CoPilot early access program for initial 600 users worldwide. The pricing and licensing costs of Microsoft CoPilot are still a suspense though as nothing has been announced by the company yet.

The company says that AI will foster productivity and growth for businesses and enable employees to do their work on “autopilot” mode and AI serving as the “copilot” for them.
