Wood Commission 1854 Dalhousie It is called the Magnacarte of Indian education.
The chairman of this commission was Charles Wood.
It recommended the opening of a native language school and an Anglo vernacular school
Based on this, in 1857 three universities were opened in Calcutta, Mumbai and Madras
Hunter commission 1882 Lord Ripon It was formed under the chairmanship of w.w.hunter to review the works of the Wood Commission
This commission emphasized primary education
It made moral education compulsory
Raleigh Commission
 (University Commission)
1902 Lord Curzon It was formed under the chairmanship of Thomas Raleigh.
By this Curzon wanted to establish government office in the universities
Sadler Commission 1917 Lord Chelmsford Its president was Michael Sadler
Lindsay Commission 1929 Lord Irvine  Its president was Michael Lindsay
Hartog Commission 1929 Lord Irvine Its president was Sir Philip Hartog
Wardha Scheme 1937 Lord Linlithgow In 1937, Mahatma Gandhi published a series of articles on education in his paper The Harijan.
This is also called the Wardha scheme
Zakir Hussain Committee 1937 Lord Linlithgow Its president was Zakir Hussein
Sapru Committee 1934 Lord Linlithgow It’s president was  Sir Tej bhadur Sapru
Sergeant Plan 1944 Lord Wavell It emphasized the establishment of primary schools and secondary schools.
It emphasized free education
Radhakrishna Commission 1948-49 Lord Mountbatten Three objectives of education were set by this commission.
General education, culture and vocational education
University Grants Commission 1953 Indian Government It is the highest institution of higher education in India
Secondary Education Commission 1952 Indian Government It’s president was Dr Mudaliar
Kothari Commission 1964 Indian Government Its chairman was Dr D. S. Kothari.
It introduced national and international standards of education
Aitchison Commission 1886  Lord Dufferin It is recommended to ensure the participation of Indians in the civil service
Royal Commission 1912 Lord Hoarding It is recommended to ensure the participation of Indians in the civil service
Lee Commission 1924 Lord Reading The civil service was reformed by this commission
