The Lodash _.isFloat() method checks whether the given value is a Float value or not and returns the corresponding boolean value.

Syntax:

_.isFloat( value );

Parameters: This method accepts single parameter as mentioned above and described below:

  • value: Given value to be checked for Float value.

Return Value: This method returns a Boolean value (Returns true if the given value is even, else false).

Note: This will not work in normal JavaScript because it requires the lodash.js contrib library to be installed. Lodash.js contrib library can be installed using npm install lodash-contrib.

Example 1:

Javascript

// Defining lodash contrib variable
var _ = require('lodash-contrib');

// Checking
console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(5.56));

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(5.0));

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(5));

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(0.5));

Output:

The Value is Float : true
The Value is Float : false
The Value is Float : false
The Value is Float : true

Example 2:

Javascript

// Defining lodash contrib variable
var _ = require('lodash-contrib');

// Checking
console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(10));

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat());

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(23.60));

console.log("The Value is Float : " + _.isFloat(50.08));
