Lodash _.isMap() method checks whether the given value is a map object or not and returns the corresponding boolean value.

Syntax:

_.isMap( value );

Parameters:

  • value: This parameter holds the value that needs to be checked for a map object.

Return Value:

This method returns a Boolean value(Returns true if the given value is a map object, else false).

Example 1: In this example, it is returning true as the given value is a map object.

Javascript




// Defining Lodash variable
const _ = require('lodash');
 
let testMap = new Map;
 
// Checking for Map
console.log("The Value is Map : "
        + _.isMap(testMap));


Output:

The Value is Map : true

Example 2:  In this example, it is returning false as the given value is not a map object.

Javascript




// Defining Lodash variable
const _ = require('lodash');
 
let testMap = new WeakMap;
 
// Checking for Map
console.log("The Value is Map : "
    + _.isMap(testMap));


Output:

The Value is Map : false
