Following we are presenting a list of Mughal Architecture. This is the most important topic of any exams like SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, RAILWAYS, and BANKING. In every exam 3 or 4 questions were asked about these topics.

Architecture Ruler  Place  Attributes 
Kabuli Bagh Masjid Babar Panipat This mosque was built by the Mughal emperor Babur. This was the first mosque built during the Mughal period.
Ayodhya Masjid Babar Ayodhya It was also built by Babur, the founder of the Mughal dynasty. At present, a grand Ram temple has been established here.
Jama Masjid Babar Sambhal It is located in Uttar pradesh.
Bagh-e-Gulafshan Babar Agra It is built on the Char Bagh system.
Din Panah Humayun Delhi This was the first building built during the reign of Emperor Humayun. It was a library. Emperor Humayun died after falling from the steps of Dinpanah
Sher Shah’s Tomb Sher Shah Sasaram Sher Shah built his tomb in the middle of the lake.
Humayun’s garden tomb  Haji Begum Delhi This is the first garden tomb in the Mughal dynasty.
Agra Fort Akbar Agra Emperor Akbar started its construction work in 1565 AD under the supervision of Qasim Khan, the simple outline of this fort was prepared by Mansingh. Taking the brick fort of Sikandar Lodi as the basis, its construction work was started.
Jahangiri Mahal Akbar Agra Akbar built it for his son Salim.
Fatehpur Sikri Akbar Fatehpur Sikri (Agra) Fatehpur Sikri is situated at a distance of 35 km from Agra. Akbar named it Fatehpur Sikri after the Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chisti. Akbar named Sikri Fatehpur in memory of Gujarat’s victory and built Buland Darwaza here.
Diwan-e-Aam Akbar Fatehpur Sikri  At this place, Akbar heard petitions of the general public and did justice every morning.
Diwan-e-Khas Akbar Fatehpur Sikri This is a place for private audience and private meetings.
Panch Mahal Akbar Fatehpur Sikri Its architecture seems to be inspired by a Buddhist temple. A pool named Anoop Talab is also situated in front of it.
Turkish Sultana’s Cottage Akbar Fatehpur Sikri It is one of the most highly ornamented buildings in Fatehpur Sikri.
Jodhabai Mahal Akbar Fatehpur Sikri It was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar for his second wife Jodha Bai.
Mariam’s Cottage Akbar Fatehpur Sikri The palace was famous for its splendid decoration and ancestral architecture.
Birbal Mahal Akbar Fatehpur Sikri The palace is unique due to the influence of both Hindu and Mughal architecture.
Jama Masjid Akbar Fatehpur Sikri It is one of the largest mosques in India.
Sheikh Salim Chisti’s Tomb Akbar Fatehpur Sikri Initially, the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti was built with red stones, later Mughal rulers built it with marble.
Islam Khan’s Tomb Akbar Fatehpur Sikri Islam Khan’s tomb stands near the dargah of Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti.
Buland Darwaza Akbar Fatehpur Sikri This is the tallest door located in India, its total height including the platform is 311 feet. It was built by Akbar in the memory of Gujarat victory.
Hiran Minar Akbar Fatehpur Sikri Emperor Akbar himself used to sit on top of it and watch the elephant fight in the palace.
Astrology Meeting Place Akbar Fatehpur Sikri Astrological work was done in this building.
Lahore Fort Akbar Lahore UNESCO included it in the World Heritage List in 1981.
Attock Fort Akbar Attock It is located in Pakistan. It was here that Birbal died in a battle.
Allahabad Fort Akbar Allahabad Emperor Akbar built this fort in 1583 AD in Allahabad at the confluence of the Ganges Yamuna rivers.
Akbar’s Tomb Jahangir Sikandra          ( Agra ) Akbar himself had planned to build this building. It has been constructed on the Char Bagh method. Its shape is like a pyramid. There are four minarets around this tomb. This tomb is five storeyed.
Itimaddaulah’s Tomb Nur Jahan
 
Agra Itimaddaulah was the father of Nur Jahan. This tomb is built on the Char Bagh pattern. This tomb is made entirely of white marble. The graves of both of Nur Jahan’s parents are in this. This tomb is known for Pietra Dura art. This is the first building built entirely of marble during the Mughal period.
Jahangir’s Tomb Nur Jahan
 
Shahdara  (Lahore) The construction plan of this tomb was made by Jahangir himself. But Nur Jahan got it done.
