Following we are presenting a list of Ancient Indian History Architecture with their Location, ruler and attributes. This topic is very important for every exam. In the Staff Selection Commission Combined, Graduate Level exam 2 or 3 questions are asked.

Patliputra Palace Patliputra Chandra Gupta Maurya It was situated at the confluence of the Ganges and Son rivers. This palace has been called Sugadag in the Mudrarakshas salt book.
Sarnath Pillar Sarnath Ashok Four lions are sitting with their backs to each other in the Sarnath pillar.
Sanchi Stupa Sanchi (Bhopal) Ashok It is the most prominent of the stupas built by Ashoka.
Sudama Cave Barabar hill (Bodhgaya) Ashok, Dashrath This cave was donated by Dasaratha to the Ajivak sect.
Lomas Rishi Barabar hill (Bodhgaya) Ashok, Dashrath This is the most famous cave of the Barabar group.
Karna Chopar Barabar hill (Bodhgaya) Ashok It was built by Ashoka in the 19th year of his rule.
Chintamani Vihara Nalanda Devpal/ Shailendra  Devpal donated 5 villages to Shailendra Raja for the construction of Chudamani Vihara. It was built by Shailendra.
Kukkutarama Vihar  Pataliputra Maurya  It was built in Ashoka’s reign.

Bihar Dharmapala It was one of the largest Buddhist universities built around the 8th -9th century AD in Bihar.

Odantapuri Vihar Bihar Gopal It was established by the Pala ruler Gopala I in the 8th century.
Nagapattinam Vihar Tamilnadu Dharmapala It was also known as Chudamani Vihara.
Purvaram Vihar Sravasti Maurya Dynasty This vihara was built by a Buddhist preacher named Visakha.
Mahavan Vihar  Sravasti Maurya Dynasty This vihara was built by a Buddhist preacher named Amrapali.
Ghoshitaram Vihar Kaushambi Haryanka Dynasty This vihara was built by Udayan.
Kutagarasala Vihara Vaishali Maurya Dynasty This vihara was built by the Lichchhavis.
Veluvan Vihar  Rajgrah Haryanka Dynasty This vihara was built by the ruler of Haryanka dynasty, Bimbasara.
Jetvan Vihar  Sravasti Maurya Dynasty This vihara was built by Anathapindika, a disciple of Mahatma Buddha.
Amaravathi Stupa Amaravathi

Satavahana Dynasty It was built in 200 B.C by the Satavahana rulers.

Maurya Dynasty This stupa was rebuilt by the rulers of the Sunga dynasty.
Dhamekh Stupa  Sarnath Gupta Dynasty This stupa is made of bricks.
Tigawa Temple Jabalpur Gupta Dynasty This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Parvati Temple  Panna  Gupta Dynasty  This temple is dedicated to the goddess Parvati.
Deogarh Dashavatara Temple  Jhansi Gupta Dynasty  The Shikar of this temple is 12 meters high. This is the first example of a shikhara in temple construction.
Sirpur Lakshmana Temple  Raipur Gupta Dynasty  In this temple there is an idol of Lord Vishnu lying on Shesh Nag.
Vishnu Temple  Udayagiri  Gupta Dynasty  This temple was built by Veer Saab Sen, the minister of Gupta ruler Chandra Gupta Vikramaditya.
Khoh Temple  Nagda  Gupta Dynasty  This is the temple of Lord Shiva.
Bhumra Temple  Nagod  Gupta Dynasty  This is the temple of Lord Shiva. A Linga Mukhi Shivling has been received from this temple.

Ajanta Caves Maharashtra Vakatak/Gupta Dynasty  Its cave numbers 16, 17 and 19 were built during the Gupta period.
Bagh Caves Gwalior Gupta Dynasty  Bagh Caves are a group of nine rock-cut monuments.
It is situated among the southern slopes of the Vindhyas.
ellora Caves  Maharashtra Gupta Dynasty  Its five caves were built during the Gupta period.
