LinkedIn is a business- and employment-oriented social networking service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Founded on December 28, 2002 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. Users can make connections with other people they have worked with, post their work experience and skills, look for jobs, and look for workers. The site is available in many languages, including most European languages, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and Malay. LinkedIn has more than 500 million members around the world. In India, there are more than 18 million users.

The site has an Alexa Internet ranking as the 20th most popular website (October 2016). In 2016, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn. LinkedIn is awarded rank #60 on the Forb’s America’s Best Employer List, also ranked #1867 on Forb’s Global 2000 and #715 in terms of Market Value in 2016. LinkedIn was ranked at #14 among the Best Places to Work in the World in 2016 and #8 in 2017.

Recruitment Process:

LinkedIn conducts 5-6 rounds to select freshers as SDEs in their organization.

  • Technical Round 1
  • Technical Round 2
  • Technical Round 3
  • Technical Round 4
  • System Design Round
  • HR Round

Academic Criteria:

  • 60 percent or above in B.Tech, Class X and XII.
  • No backlogs at the time of the interview

Written Round:

The online round contains 2-3 coding problems for which the duration is 1 hr. Sometimes this round also includes MCQs which are mainly from data structures, algorithms, oops, dbms, Networking, and Linux.

Technical Rounds:

The students who clear the written round are called for a Technical Interview. To clear this round you should be clear with your basics. You should be prepared with Data structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, networking, and DBMS. Students from branches other than CS should prepare for the other two subjects related to their branch. Sometimes these rounds may also be online coding rounds. They also ask questions about resumes. They frequently ask questions about your previous projects. You may be asked puzzles in this round.

System Design Rounds:

In this round, you can expect designing-based problems such as designing a file server system.

HR Round:

Sometimes they only ask HR questions like :

  1. Tell me about Yourself
  2. Your family background?
  3. Projects mentioned in Resume
  4. Problems faced during projects
