Larsen and Toubro Infotech(LTI) recruited through our campus virtually in the last week of September 2020 and here is everything you need to know about LTI as a company, its recruitment procedure, and the opportunities it shall offer you after landing a job into it.

Company background: Founded as L&T Information Technology Ltd in December 1996, LTI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T). During 2001–2002 the company’s name was changed from L&T Information Technology Limited to Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited and in the same year, the company achieved the assessed level of SEI Level 5. L&T Infotech dropped the word ‘Infotech’ from its name to reflect the changing business environment and rebranded itself as ‘LTI’ with a tag line of ‘Let’s Solve’ in May 2017.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited (LTI) is a global IT solutions and services company based in Mumbai, India. In 2017, NASSCOM ranked LTI as the sixth-largest Indian IT services company in terms of export revenues. According to the Everest Group’s PEAK Matrix for IT service providers, it was among the top 15 IT service providers globally in 2017.

Although L&T Infotech is basically a software company, it not only hires one for a particular job role but one must be comfortable in doing all the work he/she may be assigned and must be flexible enough to work for the company as one may need to relocate.

Recruitment procedure: The two different profiles offered by the company denoted by Level-1 and Level-2 are for Graduate Engineer Trainee positions GET-6 and GET-7. They differ in the salaries offered. If you solve the code in the process then only you are interviewed for Level-2 otherwise you will be able to sit for the lower profile.

Round 1 (Written Round): The written Test is divided into 7 sections.

  • Psychometric: You will get 86 Questions with a time limit of 20 minutes for this section.

Prepare your basics well and get through this round with flying colors. After this round 107 (99 in Level- 1 and 8 in Level- 2) candidates were shortlisted.

Round 2 (Technical Round): It is an easy round to clear. If you have good command of the subjects you have enlisted on your submitted resume and trainee application form and by giving energetic responses on the question asked and showcasing willingness to learn the concepts you are not good enough in, you shall get through this round easily

The questions asked were mainly to check your knowledge on the basic concepts of the IT subjects like DBMS, Data Structures, and the language you know well.

Knowing the concepts of OOPs, Java and Python would be a plus point.

49 (41 in Level- 1 and 4 in Level- 2) out of 107 candidates were selected after this round

Round 3 (Personal Interview): The only thing I learned from here is to be confident in whatever you speak. In this round, you can expect technical questions also as I was asked a question on DBMS (normalization).

They only want to see your personality and how you carry yourself. The questions that were asked-

  1. Tell me something about yourself
  2. What are your hobbies?
  3. Why do you want to join LTI?
  4. Is there any problem with relocation?
  5. What are the 3 mistakes in your life?
  6. Why should we hire you?
  7. Do you have any problem with the 2 years bond?
  8. A topic to speak on- Slowdown of Indian Economy, Scope of electric vehicles in India, Digitalization required in India

At last, you can ask the questions you have in mind.

Tips:

  • Having some information on trending news about the social and economic affairs of India is expected.
  • You must show that you are comfortable with the relocation and bond-related policy of the company to get through
  • Know your resume

21 (20 for Level- 1 and 1 for Level- 2) candidates were finally selected. I got selected for Level-1
