jQWidgets jqxDropDownList searchMode Property

Introduction: jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxDropDownList widget is a jQuery drop-down list that contains a list of selectable items displayed in the drop-down list.

The searchMode property is used to set or return the item incremental search mode. This property is used when a user types into the dropdown and tries to find the searched item using the entered text and the selected search mode. It accepts String type value and its default value is ‘startswith’.

Its possible values are as follows. The developer can use them according to the application’s need.

  • ‘none’
  • ‘contains’
  • ‘containsignorecase’
  • ‘equals’
  • ‘equalsignorecase’
  • ‘startswithignorecase’
  • ‘startswith’
  • ‘endswithignorecase’
  • ‘endswith’

 

Syntax:

Set the searchMode property.

$('selector').jqxDropDownList({ searchMode: String });

Return the searchMode property.

var searchMode = $('selector').jqxDropDownList('searchMode');
