jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxDropDownList widget is a jQuery drop-down list that contains a list of selectable items displayed in the drop-down list.

The getSelectedIndex() method is used to get the index of the selected item. It does not accept any parameter and returns the index of the selected item. If no item is selected then it returns -1.

Syntax:

$("Selector").jqxDropDownList('getSelectedIndex');

Linked Files: Download jQWidgets from the link https://www.jqwidgets.com/download/. In the HTML file, locate the script files in the downloaded folder.
