jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxDataTable is used for reading and displaying the data from the HTML Table. This is also used to display data from various data sources like XML, JSON, Array, CSV, or TSV.

The columnGroups property is used for setting the multiple columns into a single group column of the specified jqxDataTable.

Below is the list of properties.

  • parentGroup: This is the final group name that will be formed after combining the existing columns.
  • name: This is the string property that will check the name of the group.
  • align: This is the string property that checks the column header’s alignment. Its possible values are ‘left’, ‘center’ or ‘right’.

Syntax:

For setting the columnGroups property.

$('Selector').jqxDataTable({
  columnGroups: [
    { text: 'Product Details', align: 'center',
                name: 'ProductDetails'},
    { text: 'Order Details', parentGroup: 'ProductDetails',
                align: 'center', name: 'OrderDetails' },
    { text: 'Location', align: 'center', name: 'Location' }
  ]
});
