jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful and optimized framework, platform-independent, and widely supported. The jqxComboBox is used to represent a jQuery combobox widget that contains an input field with auto-complete functionality and a list of selectable items displayed in a drop-down.

The searchMode property is used to set or return the item search mode. This property is useful when the user types into the edit field. It accepts string type value and its default value is ‘startswith’.

Its possible values are –

  • ‘none’
  • ‘contains’
  • ‘containsignorecase’
  • ‘equals’
  • ‘equalsignorecase’
  • ‘startswithignorecase’
  • ‘startswith’
  • ‘endswithignorecase’
  • ‘endswith’

Syntax:

Set the searchMode property.

$('selector').jqxComboBox({ searchMode: String });

Return the dropDownHeight property.

var searchMode = $('selector').jqxComboBox('searchMode');
