jQuery UI consists of GUI widgets, visual effects, and themes implemented using the jQuery JavaScript Library. jQuery UI is great for building UI interfaces for the webpages. It can be used to build highly interactive web applications or can be used to add widgets easily.

The jQuery UI Selectable distance option is used to set the tolerance, in pixels, for when selecting should start. Selecting will not start until the mouse has been dragged beyond the specified distance.

Syntax:

Initialize selectable element with distance option:

$( "Selector" ).selectable({
distance: 30
});
  • Get the default option:

    var distance = $( "Selector" ).selectable( "option", "distance" );
  • Set the default option:

    $( "Selector" ).selectable( "option", "distance", 30 );
