Importance of Canal: An Introduction

A canal is an artificial waterway that allows boats and ships to move from one body of water to another. Canals are also beneficial for transporting water for irrigation and other human purposes. Although the advent of more efficient modes of transportation has reduced the need for canals, they still play an important role as modes of transportation and encourage global trade.  

Types Of Canals:

There are two types of canals: watercourses and aqueducts. Watercourses are the navigable parts of a body of water and may be in a bay or on the open sea,  connect two or more bodies of water or even form networks within a city. The aqueducts are used solely to transport water for human consumption, agriculture, and hydroelectric
