The DOM Input Month defaultValue property in HTML DOM is used to set or return the default value of a Month field. It is the value specified in the value attribute. 

Syntax: 

  • It returns the defaultValue property.
monthObject.defaultValue
  • It is used to set the defaultValue property.
monthObject.defaultValue = value

Property Values: 

  • value: It specifies the default value of the Month field.

Return Value: It returns the default Value of the Month field in the form of a string. 

Example-1: This example returns the defaultValue of Input Month property.

Note: In Firefox, the input type=”month” element does not show any date field or calendar.
