HSBC exclusively sent candidates who were females to our college. The HSBC hiring procedure consisted of 5 rounds.

Round 1: Shortlisting the resume

Round 2: Technical and coding assessment on the Cocubes Platform

Round 3: Selected students who performed well on the technical and coding assessments are required to perform an additional value-based evaluation. There were personality assessment questions in these value-based assessments. This round is also an elimination round.

Round 4:  Offline Technical Interview: On January 19, 2023, a technical interview was held on the campus of our college.
I had a very seasoned panel as my interviewer for the technical interview.

  • He looked quite closely at my résumé.
  • He asked me questions based on my whole resume.
  • Especially he asked questions about the project which I included in my resume.
  • He asked me questions based on the data structures and algorithms because I had DSA, OOPS, and DBMS in the technical skills section of my résumé.
    • “What is Data Structures?”
    • “How to insert an element in a linked list ?”
    • “How to traverse a tree ?”
    • “Tell me the difference between the array and linked list?” The interview was around for 20 to 25 minutes.

Round 5: Offline HR interview: My little introduction was the interviewer’s first question.

  • Then he said, “In what programming language are you most at ease?” I claimed to be at ease in Java.
  • Then he questioned, “Why Java?”
  • Then he questioned me, “Did you do anything differently during the Covid epidemic period like aiding people or anything else?”

For 35 to 40 minutes, the HR round lasted. The entire interview process went really well. Unfortunately, I was not chosen for HSBC.
