Online document editors, a document management platform, corporate communication, mail, and project management tools are all included.OnlyOffice is available as a SaaS or as a standalone installation for use on a private network. A private internet gateway is used to get access to the system.

How to Install OnlyOffice Desktop Editors on Ubuntu?

OnlyOffice Desktop Editors may be installed in a variety of methods on Ubuntu. Let’s take a look at each one individually.

  • Using the Terminal
  • Installing via Snap Package

Let’s go through all the installation methods one by one.

Method 1: Using Terminal

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors are installed from the repository.

Adding their repository to your Linux OS is a better way to install desktop editors. To do so, first:

Step 1: Create a GPG key:

sudo apt-key adv –keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 –recv-keys CB2DE8E5

 

Step 2: Repository for desktop editors:

echo ‘deb https://download.onlyoffice.com/repo/debian squeeze main’ | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/onlyoffice.list

 

Step 3: Update the cache in the package manager:

sudo apt-get update

 

Step 4: The editors may now be readily installed by using the command:

sudo apt-get install onlyoffice-desktopeditors

 

Step 5: After the installation is complete, use the terminal command to launch the editors:

desktopeditors

 

Method 2: Snap to install ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors

If you prefer Ubuntu or one of its official flavours, a snap package may be the easiest way to install ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.

Step 1: Simply run the following command to install the application:

snap install onlyoffice-desktopeditors

 

Step 2: After the installation is complete, use the following terminal command to open ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors:

snap run onlyoffice-desktopeditors

 

Desktop Editors in Use

After the installation is complete, use the terminal command to launch the editors:

desktopeditors

 

 

If you prefer a graphical user interface, the editors can always be found in the Application menu – Office – ONLYOFFICE on your computer.
