GIMP is an acronym for GNU IMAGE MANIPULATION PROGRAM. It is free computer software that was designed for performing tasks like digital painting, image editing, designing high-quality graphics, etc. It is open-source software that was launched in 1998. The credit of its development goes to the development team of GIMP and to the authors, Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis. It is available for different operating systems like macOS, Linux, and Windows. 

Installing GIMP on MacOS 

Follow the following steps to install GIMP on MacOS:

Step 1: Visit the official website of GIMP on any web browser.

Step 3: Click on the macOS and installer files for macOS are ready to download.

Step 4: Click on the option of Download GIMP directly.

Step 5: Downloading of the file will start, now check for the executable file on your system and open it.

Step 6: Now click on GIMP to hold it and drag it to Applications for installation.

Step 7: Click on the launchpad and look for gimp to open it.
