The fact that this screenshot tool may be used with both a graphical user interface and a command-line interface is its strongest feature. It is a screenshot tool that is incredibly simple to use and offers users a high degree of versatility and customization. We’ll be setting up Flameshot on an Ubuntu system in this article.

Installation of Flameshot on Ubuntu

Follow the below steps for installing Flameshot on Ubuntu:

Step 1: Firstly, update the repositories using the apt manager. Execute the below command to update.

sudo apt update

 

Step 2: Install the Flameshot Screenshot Tool using apt manager. Execute the command to install the Tool.

sudo apt install flameshot

 

Step 3: Enter ‘Y’ for confirming the installation. 

Enter Y

 

Step 4: Enter the below command to check the version of flameshot tool.

flameshot --version

 

Usage of Flameshot 

Usage 1: Using CLI

Example 1: Clicking Screenshot

flameshot gui -p /home/gaurav/Desktop/

Here, we are clicking screenshots using the command. You can see that after executing the command, the screenshot is been clicked and displayed on the same screen.

 

Example 2: Configuration

Here, we are opening the configuration menu of the tool using the command. We have got the configuration panel after executing the command.

flameshot config

 

Usage 2: GUI Way

Example 1: Clicking Screenshot

Open the Flameshot Tool from Activities Panel.

 

Now, click on the icon of Flameshot, which is on the right side of the main panel. After clicking on the icon, click on the Take Screenshot option to click a snapshot of the live screen.

 

You can see that, after clicking on the Take Screenshot option, the tool has automatically clicked the screenshot and it is displayed on the screen.

 

Example 2: Latest Uploads

To view the latest uploads, click on the Latest Uploads option from the option box.

 

Example 3: Configuration

To view the Configuration menu of the tool, click on the Configuration option from the option box.

 

Example 4: About Tool

To know detailed information about the Flameshot tool, click on the About option from the option box.
